An English migrant named Alfred Cook founded the establishment and served delectable burgers from a small roadside caravan. These days, Alfred’s Kitchen is owned and operated by Neil Lawrence, a man who considers the landmark Guildford restaurant his calling.

Based in the historic town of Guildford, Western Australia and serving burgers the way they always have been it is easy to understand how Alfred’s has gained its famous reputation for hearty food.
Alfred’s kitchen is named after its Founder Alfred Cook, an English migrant, who began selling hamburgers and soup from a small caravan on a site near the majestic sugar gums of Stirling Square almost three quarters of a century ago.
The current owners, the Lawrence family purchased Alfred’s in 1986 and have grown the business over the years to what you see today. With both 30years of ownership and 70years of operation we celebrate this year with the opening of our first dining area in a historic 1906 train carriage.
